The mayor’s position is a two-year term.
The five council seats are all four-year terms. The four-year terms are staggered, electing two seats one year and three seats the next year.
City Council meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Roland Community Center (208 North Main Street). Please feel free to attend. (2020 join by using zoom through this pandemic)
Agendas for the meetings are posted at City Hall (208 N Main Street), the Roland Library (218 N Main Street), and the Roland Post Office (225 N Main Street). It is also be posted on the city’s web page along with the minutes from the previous council meeting.
Tax Rates
For the tax period of July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011, taxes are payable 9/2010 and 3/2011 and are based on the January 1, 2009, valuations.
Taxes are figured based on the “taxable” value. The “taxable value” is determined by multiplying the “assessed” value by the current rollback percentage and applying any applicable exemptions and credits. The rollback for the 2010/2011 tax period is 46.9094 percent of the total assessed value of the property.
